The UFC 117 middleweight championship of the world, featuring the reigning and defending champion, Anderson "The Spider" Silva facing off against the top contender for the UFC's 185 lb. throne, Chael Sonnen, will take place Aug.7, this coming weekend.
Silva for his part, has been as quiet as a proverbial "church mouse."
Sonnen however, has been making up for both fighters, and doing a tremendous job of hyping, smack talking, and being a general "pain in the ass" to just about everyone who he has ever been involved with.
Rich Franklin, according to Sonnen, is nothing but "a no talent math teacher." Canadian Patrick Cote, merely a one legged fighter...etc.etc..ad infinitum.
Sonnen also took a stab at Quentin "Rampage" Jackson on a live radio show called Pro MMA Radio, telling host Larry Pepe that Jackson—who was involved in a hit and run accident and a high speed police pursuit in Newport Beach, California, in the summer of 2008—was lying through his teeth, when he stated the incident had been caused from sleep deprivation, and "one too many" Red-Bull energy drinks.

The insect known as the spider is an amazing creature.
One of natures most architectural masterpieces of design, the spider's web is also a thing of beauty..
This almost invisible, and intrinsically designed dwelling, can also serve as a trap, in which to catch food.
However, beautiful things are sometimes also lethal; getting caught or entangled within the spider's web usually means certain death.
Ultimate Fighting championship's cage fighter Anderson “The Spider” Silva, is also an extremely lethal predator.
The UFC top 185 lb cage fighter has, over the years, developed his very own trap-setting, and counter-punching technique, and needless to say, the champion Spider Silva reigns supreme over all others fighters in his class.

With no recent UFC events on the table during this past month the cagefighting media has been, to say the least, extremely dull.
The new month of August however is absolutely loaded with action.
Ten major events are scheduled for the first 28 days, starting with UFC Live on Versus 2, Jon Bones Jones Vs. Vladimir Matyushenko in San Diego, this coming Sunday night.
Some MMA websites with nothing better to do, have even gone as far as fabricating new stories, or rumors, just to keep the hits coming in. UFC president Dana White recently visited the latest episode of ESPN2's MMA Live.
Once again, never at a loss for words, White attempts to "clear the air" in regards to some of these, more recent, confounding MMA news stories. UFC 205 contender Rashad Evans was also appearing as a guest on the show, and one of first things he wanted to ask his boss, White, was regarding the recent rumor surrounding the December return of UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

According to my favorite cagefighting website, UFC 185 pound newcomer, Gerald " Hurricane" Harris, is ready to take advantage of a sudden career "window of opportunity," by verbally agreeing to replace the sidelined Jorge Rivera at UFC 118, better known as the Frankie Edgar vs. B.J. Penn rematch.
Rivera was supposed to be fighting Alessio Sakara on the undercard of the Aug. 28 Boston TD Garden scheduled event, but unfortunately broke his arm during training.
Harris has been thrilling fight fans since being awarded "Knockout of the Night" after his UFC debut victory over John Salter in January.
The exciting cagefighter earned another knockout of the night award earlier this month, on July 3rd, at UFC 116, when he knocked out Dave Branch with a brutal slam at 3:25 of the third round.

Diego "Nightmare" Sanchez recently responded via text message to his female admirers that his next opponent will be Brazilian top ten fighter Paulo Thiago.
Sanchez say's it will take place at UFC 121, which is scheduled for Oct. 23, at the Honda Center, in Anaheim, California.
" Lol, my training camp is top secret jk !!! all you girls need to know is I'm fighting Paulo Thiago Oct. 23 at 121. I am giving everything I have in the training camp this time around, I will show my fans and ufc that that last fight I was only performing at 70 % with no one to blame but myself. I have found my focus again I am expecting a war. Luv you two awesome fans!
Sanchez, a TUF(The Ultimate Fighter) Spike TV reality show product, is quite possibly one of the most overrated fighters in the world, and most definitely on the down-hill swing.

According to this recent posting on the website of the Ultimate Fighting Championships, the worlds top MMA promotion will soon be making their next long awaited overseas trip to the United Kingdom.
UFC 120 is now official, and tentatively scheduled for Oct. 16th, at London’s 02 Arena. The event's main bout will be Michael Bisping Vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama.
The co-main event sounds much more intriguing, and will feature a UFC welterweight showdown with Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy meeting former WEC champion Carlos ‘The Natural Born Killer’ Condit.
In addition, even though the UFC event is two months away, according to the article, both fighters are wasting no time in trying to "drum up" interest in the match.

Munoz, at the 205 weight class, during UFC 96, was the victim of a brutal "highlight reel" head-kick-knockout loss via Matt Hamill, but has now won his last three in a row since dropping to middleweight.
